Sulu State College formalized a partnership with Barangay Bakung, Patikul, Sulu, represented by Hon. Sahina A. Anuddin through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on March 1, 2024, at the SSC Office of the President. This agreement solidifies the commitment of both entities to collaborate on community development programs.

The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of key individuals, including Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, President of Sulu State College, along with Dr. Sherha Baybayan and Hon. Sahina A. Anuddin. Other notable attendees included Dr. Almashin S. Lipae, Asst. Prof. Marivel D. Sarabi and other officials of Sulu State College.

This collaborative endeavor is in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) 4 and 17. UNSDG 4, which focuses on quality education, seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. UNSDG 17, which centers around partnerships for the goals, encourages effective collaboration to achieve sustainable development objectives.
