Guided by the theme “AGGIE: Sowing the Seeds of Change in the Year of Transformation Season 2,” the Sulu State College School of Agriculture successfully held its 1st Pinning Ceremony, celebrating the hard work and achievements of its agriculture students. The ceremony took place on February 13, 2024, at the SSC Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, Walled City, Jolo, Sulu.

The event began with a welcome address from the newly appointed dean of the SSC School of Agriculture, Ms. Malikha J. Ilupa, L.Agr., followed by an inspirational message from Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, represented by the college VPAA, Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, Ph.D. The highlight of the event was the presentation of pins, facilitated by Sitti Kauzar Ayyub and attended by students and parents of agriculture students.

Following this, a memorandum of agreement was signed between the SSC School of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agricultural Fishery and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR-Sulu), aiming to establish a partnership for student on-the-job training. The signing was led by Ms. Malikha J. Ilupa and Engr. Alfie U. Iribani, witnessed by college officials including Asst. Prof. Alnadzma U. Tulawie, Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, and other key attendees.

Furthermore, Ms. Sarha A. Sangkula, RPAE, participated in the event as the keynote speaker, sharing insights and inspiration for aspiring agriculturists. In alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, the celebrations reflected the promotion of quality education.

Congratulations to the SSC School of Agriculture, led by Ms. Malikha J. Ilupa, along with its faculty and staff, for successfully hosting their first pinning ceremony. Our appreciation to MAFAR-Sulu for their presence and support, as well as to the parents, especially the stalwarts students.
