





The Sulu State College conducts a supplemental training on teaching reading for Jolo Daycare workers, Kindergarten and Grade 1 Teachers with the theme: “Advancing Strategies to Build a Culture of Reading among Tausug Learners” at the SSC Gymnasium.
The college strongly signifies the importance of reading comprehension, how this is vital to the students learning which also help them become academically competitive when they reached junior and senior highschool. This training is an opportunity to know and have an idea on how to improve children’s comprehension and it has been the college’s vision that for the future Tausugs learners, most especially in the rural areas, that they will be confident when they reach junior and senior high school.

As we all know, Comprehension can be consider as everything, Being able to solve mathematical problems is useless when we do not understand the problem, answering scientific questions is hard because we are not able to grasp the concepts, even understanding simple sentences, without comprehension, communication as well wont be effective, that is why this training is an opportunity to know and have an idea on how to improve children’s comprehension and It is the SSC’s dream that for the future little Tausugs, most especially in the rural areas, that they will be confident when they reach junior and senior high school.
