SSC School of Nursing is devoted in promoting and maintaining the well-being of individuals and community by fostering a sense of unity, empowerment and collective programs. On February 18, 2024, they have successfully conducted a Community Outreach Program at Barangay Bakung, Patikul, Sulu with the theme “Pag-Ayad sin Pamaranan Ika-sambu sin Kawman” in coordination with the Barangay Captain of Bakung, Patikul, Sulu, Ms. Sahina Anuddin.

The outreach program is with the purpose to identify mothers and children 1-10 years old in the community by measuring the Height and Weight, and the Mid Upper Arm Circumference. As well as adults with hypertension and diabetes by providing a Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose/ Blood Sugar check-up.

The Dean of School of Nursing, Asso. Prof. Alijandrina T. Jalilul, RN, MAN, Ed. D, Level 3 coordinator, Mrs. Sherha B. Baybayan, RN, MAN, LPT, PhD, clinical instructors and the Level 3 from batch Carpe Die and Level 2 student nurses from batch Les reveur Anatrofi spearheaded and participated on this program.

As they engage in this activity , the level 3 and 2 student nurses diligently checked vital signs like blood pressure and blood glucose of adults in the community while also measuring height, weight and Mid-Upper-Arm-Circumference of Children. Subsequently, their contribution extended to providing valuable health teachings to both adult and the elderly clients. Through this participation, these student nurses demonstrated their commitment to promoting wellness and empowering individuals with health knowledge, making a significant impact on the well-being of the community.

Batch Carpie Diem, would like to express their gratitude to the Dean of School of Nursing, Asso. Prof. Alijandrina T. Jalilul, RN, MAN, Ed. D, for allowing them experience this opportunity to grow and develop their nursing skills, and to the Level 3 coordinator, Mrs. Sherha B. Baybayan, RN, MAN, LPT, PhD, and clinical instructors of SON for guiding them throughout the program.
