Sulu State College president, Prof. Charisma Samparani Ututalum CESE, took part in delivering her message in the event entitled Seminar Workshop on Biodiversity conducted by the SSC School of Arts and Sciences led by Dr. Patricia Amilhussin and facilitated by the Science and Mathematics Department chaired by Asst. Prof. Arsanial Sappayani, together with the faculty and staff of the Arts and Sciences Department, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE), under the leadership of Engr. Nur-Padzri S. Pao, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Provincial Director. The event was held on February 23, 2024, at the Center for Culture and Arts, SSC Main Campus.

The event was opened by Ms. Mailiza Dared in the absence of the dean, Dr. Patricia Amilhussin. The event was enriched by the presence of the lecturers from Phil. Biodiversity, Mr. Andrew Ross Reintar, Field Research Officer, who emphasized the topic of what makes Sulu, Sulu? In terms of biodiversity and geographical basis, along with Ms. Bairaya Salipada, who explains biodiversity and its importance, they are both introduced by Ms. Soraya B. Sala, BS Biology faculty.

The program was attended by students, faculty, and key officials from the college, including VPAA Prof. Nelson U. Julhamid, Board Secretary Ms. Ayesha Rema Tan, Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Almashin S. Lipae, and other distinguished guests who witnessed the said program.
