On March 8, 2024, CHED Secretary Popoy De Vera III once again kicked off the paddle for another worthwhile cycle in Lupah Sug together with the Sulu Bikers Team and the Armed Forces of the Philippines led by Maj. General Ignatius Patrimonio PA.

The Padyak 2024 assembled its starting point at Camp Teodolfo Bautista, Bus. The padyak will reach its finishing line at Timpook Lake, Patikul Sulu, for a total of 42.32 km.

The first stop along the way was at Ganda Suli, Patikul, Sulu, where Secretary Popoy had the pleasure of meeting the first grantee, Nur Aisa S. Bahjin. The journey continued to Brgy. Kan Ague, Patikul, Sulu, where he engaged with two more grantees, Fatima Sheshara S. Jauhari and Reaza J. Jauhari, discussing the impact of CHED scholarships on their studies and lives.

Furthermore, Popoy’s padyak continued to roll until they reached the peak of Timpook Lake, Patikul,Sulu.

Sulu State College hosted a brief program to honor the determination and spirit of those who participated in Padyak 2024. During the program, Secretary Popoy presented shirts as tokens to the lucky winners of the Padyak, followed by additional shirt gifts from Sulu State College President, Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE.
