The San Pedro College’s Internationalization and Linkages Office hosted their 2nd International Collaborative Online Learning (COIL) Conference with its theme: “May the FORCE (Focus, Ownership, Resilience, Collaboration, and Execution) be with you”, on March 7th and 8th, 2024 at the PL Hall, SPC Davao City.

It was attended by distinguished state universities in the Philippines, including Sulu State College represented by Ms. Jermalyn H. Amil, RN, MAN and Ms. Yoko Iribani.

The conference aims to:

1. Promote collaboration between distinct fields by embarking on a COIL project addressing Sustainable Development Goals.

2. Facilitate the sharing of COIL knowledge and expertise across various regions and networks.

3. Establish connections between participants for future COIL projects.

The conference started with a fascinating drum performance that showcased the rich culture of Dabaweños, followed by the presentation of the COIL History: From the World to the Philippines

On the evening, the attendees gathered together to witness a captivating display of cultural diversity and inclusivity during the cultural night networking and social event. The air was filled with excitement and anticipation as the different tribes of Davao took to the stage to showcase their unique talents. The audience was treated to a magnificent spectacle of music, dance, and traditional attire, leaving everyone mesmerized and in awe of the rich cultural heritage of Davao.

On the last day of the conference, memorandum of understanding (MOU) of the Bayluhanay COIL Network Membership Agreement was signed between the participating universities including Sulu State College. The event’s success was due to the brilliant international and local resource speakers who shared their expertise and experience about the COIL Project.

Furthermore, We are filled with immense appreciation towards our esteemed college president,Prof. Charisma Samparani Ututalum, CESE, for providing us with the chance to be a part of this outstanding and memorable event.

The experience was truly exceptional and we are grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.
